Originally created to meet the needs of an academic journal, the software suports the hosting of multiple organization with a shared pool of users from which any organization can induct members. Users can be grouped in teams (which admins can create, or users can form a team and then invite others to join, given projects (file uploads), conduct discussions (email list / message board), conduct polls, share calendars, etc. Also supports external file uploads (online submissions).

A simple single-user login that utilizes cookies for authentication. PassMasterFlex was written to provide an alternative to the Apache login, since the only successful way to "log out" with Apache is to close the browser window.
