IMP is a set of PHP scripts that implement an IMAP based webmail system. Assuming you have an account on a server that supports IMAP, you can theoretically use an installation of IMP to check your mail from anywhere that you have web access.
Instant Web Mail is a web-based POP mail client. It is very simple to install, but is nevertheless a quite advanced program. Some of its features include: Easy to install (does not require PHP to be compiled with IMAP support), reads and sends attachments, displays text/HTML attachments in-line (while still giving you the option of saving them to your hard drive), all the basic functions view all headers or the full source of the email, works even if the user has disabled cookies, localized date field, translated into several languages, can be set up to check for new messages automatically, customizable page layout, and more.
kmMail is a PHP-based mail program, based on the mail functionality of Keftamail and is being developed by current Kefta employees. It is meant to be a framework for putting a web-based mail program on your site, but is still robust enough to drop into your current site with little to no modification. The goals of kmMail are MIME compliance, speed, low overhead, and an enjoyable user interface.

MailDog is a Web based email client for IMAP servers written in PHP. It requires apache, PHP 3.0.x compiled as a module, and IMAP. Please note that this is a pre-alpha version, and there is not much documentation available yet.
