Chats is a PHP chat server with Java 1.1 client. For people that need to chat enable a web site and want to avoid the annoying "full-refresh HTML only" solution, Chats provides an ideal solution. Its Java 1.1 client has been tested on the 3 latest browser generations, and the traffic generated on the server is much smaller, only new messages being sent to the chatter, not the last couple of dozens as in the standard full refresh implementation. The chat client uses as server the web server/coupled with PHP and MySQL.
